Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a nationally recognized heritage railroad that still uses a steam locomotive. The trail from Durango to Silverton is an interesting ride that draws tourists and train lovers from around the globe.
You can ride the railroad and enjoy a meal and be amazed by what was once state of the art technology and of course soak in the beautiful views from your train car. The canyons are simply stunning that the train travels through.
Durango is not only rich in history it is also a rich outdoor lovers paradise. From fly fishing on the river to the skiing in the mountains, nature plays a primary role in the attention that this destination gets.
