The small neighborhood makes for a location where you can relax and truly take it easy. With a world-class beach and the Turkish weather, you could easily spend a week just enjoying the water and the sun, but there are quite a few things to do, so you don’t have to settle for taking it slow.
The local areas have a charm that can’t be easily beaten, the location has gotten somewhat popular with tourists over the years, but still has plenty of raw authenticity, not to mention the amount of natural beauty all across the scenery – mountains, forests, and everything else.
One of the more adrenaline rush worthy activities you can partake in is the Babadag Paragliding. Babadag mountain is a short drive outside of the city, where you’ll find one of the best locations to partake in such activity all across the globe.
You are free to choose from multiple take-off points, the highest being around 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) above sea level. For around a $100 you get a 40-minute long experience that will take your breath away, it really is one of a kind activity, you can even get yourself a CD of the experience if you feel like it something you want to take back home.
Another absolutely breathtaking location is the Butterfly Valley, that like many spots around Ölüdeniz, has something world-class to offer. In this case, it’s a canyon famous for its butterflies, but even if no such wind floaters are around, do not fret. The Valley has an astonishing enclosed beach with monumental cliffs surrounding it. If the main beach becomes too familiar and you want to change it up, no better place to do so.
For something you might not be expecting to do while on a summer vacation, the region is also great for horse riding, and for a very affordable price you can take a tour of the gorgeous terrain of the region on a back of a horse.
As you go on an almost 2-hour journey, you’ll be able to ride through pine forests and mountain scenery and have the option to take a quick swim in a river along the way. You don’t have to worry about experience, as the tour is also meant as a learning experience when it comes to horse riding. Another great day activity is Scuba Diving in the Blue Lagoon.
The Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction experience to what it takes to explore the underwater world. It takes around 30 minutes, as it’s a private discovery scuba diving excursion, it also includes pickup and drop-off at hotels in Fethiye, so it quite literally is a scuba diving experience straight from your door.
The local climate is rather pleasant, based on your preference, but the summer months see highs of up to 35 degrees Celsius (90+ Fahrenheit), and lows of around 20 degrees Celsius (70 Fahrenheit). This is typical for a Mediterranean Climate and it makes for great weather for vacation destinations.
Ölüdeniz is definitely a worthy addition to a bucket list of places to visit, from its wonderful water to beautiful nature and plenty of exciting activities, it’s top class. But if your plane ticket is not yet ready, feel free to catch a peek through one of the free webcams available on this site!
